The ReTake series is based on the series of Doujinshi comics.
Here is a basic sum of of ReTake 01
Shinji feels despair at the edge of the sea of red. The next instant, he opens his eyes in the center of NERV, the last line of defense against the Angels.
Although there is no evidence that his dream is anything but a dream, Shinji strives every day to prevent the tragedies he saw take place from becoming a reality.
His changes have an effect on Asuka as well, and they become closer than they were before.
However, Asuka finds out that Shinji was hiding his true strength in the fight against the Angel Bardiel, and is enraged.
The link between the two seems broken, but thanks to the fight against Zeruel and a frank talk with Kaji that helps Shinji be true to himself, he manages to open his mind, and Asuka accepts Shinji as well.
That night, Shinji sees a ghost of the Asuka from the Sea of Red.
She tells him that the Sea of Red was not a Dream.
At the same time, Rei Ayanami hangs herself in her apartment.
A few hours later, she is found by the one responsible for her Suicide....

ReTake is being animated by a fellow that calls himself Zeak. He has a website that can be found here.
He has been working on Project ReTake for about 5 months now and it's been coming along quite nicely. He has about 40 voice actors/crew that will dub the show in 3 different languages.
